Recent media reporting on IPCC WG1 ahead of the official release are mere speculation and conjecture which does not support better understanding of science nor help societal and business responses to climate change. We have had reports of panic and apathy as a result of misquoted, factually inaccurate and often misleading reports based on six month old drafts.

Climate science has often been misunderstood by the media and public. As a Group of companies we value the IPCC process, honour the undertakings of confidentiality given as condition for participation and respect esteemed colleagues and the climate community.
